A USB Extender allows placement of USB peripheral devices up to a distance of 150 feet away from the source computer. USB has a distance limitation of 5 meters. Since these extension devices are connected to the source and display via Cat5 cables, the distance barrier is overcome. Peripherals can now be placed at a distance of 330 feet.
