Video Splitter: View image from single source on multiple outputs
Written by luecjennifer
With the advent of a Video Splitter the impossible has become possible. Earlier, no one could have thought that it would be possible to display images from a single source on multiple devices simultaneously. However, these splitters have made this a common phenomenon. Also known as a distribution amplifier, this device boosts as well as splits the input signal and relays them to multiple devices. Due to the in built booster in this hardware device, the output signals remain crystal clear and appear as though each output device is directly connected to the source. Various types of these amplifiers are available in the market today. The latest among them is the HDMI Splitter. High definition multi media interface splitters are compact audio/video connectors which are available in 2, 4 or 8 ports. In order to achieve larger distributions, these devices can be cascaded. Supporting HD resolutions of 720i, 720p & 1080p, these splitting units are easy to use and work on plug and play functionality. The standard clutter associated with bulky VGA and audio cables can be avoided using HDMI cables as they integrate audio and video signals onto a single, thin cable. These cables are also preferred as they do not require conversion of digital signals into analog and then back to digital but keep everything in its original uncompressed format. A HDMI Splitter supports devices such as set top boxes, DVD players, D-VHS players and play stations as well as other multi media devices which have HDMI outputs. The main features of this device include non compatibility issues with any of the operating systems, low power consumption, easy installation and non requirement of software or drivers for operation. These devices are HDCP compliant, FCC/CE Certified, and RoHS compliant. Switching between output devices is done thru push buttons on the unit or RS232, but optional methods include IR and TCP/IP control. All these features make this device a popular medium of entertainment in the home theater segment. Highly recommended for situations where the same image needs to be displayed on various devices, the Video Splitter is ideal for broadcasting, monitoring work environments, training facilities etc.
