DVI-D to VGA: A popular Digital to analog signal conversion device
Written by luecjennifer

DVI-D signals can be relayed from digital sources and converted into analog signals using a DVI-D to VGA conversion device. These signals can then be viewed on a VGA display such as CRT monitors, televisions with VGA connections and other analog systems. Capable of supporting resolutions such as 1900 x1200, 1600 x 1200, 1280x1024 and 1024x768 (UXGA, SXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA), this device provides analog signals without any ghosting of images or data loss. Having a VGA bandwidth of 165 MHz and DVI-D bandwidth of 1.6 GHz, this converter is catching up on popularity to become one of the preferred methods of connecting to LCDs and Plasma displays. It does not even require an external power supply.

HDCP compliant, the DVI-D to VGA Converter is also equipped with the necessary regulatory approvals from CE, FCC as well as RoHS. The connectors on the source end and display end are DVI-I digital single link and standard HD15 respectively. Since it operates on plug and play functionality, there is no requirement for additional software or device drivers in order to get this conversion device to work. Users just need to attach the DVI end to the video card and the VGA end to the display and once the connections are secured, the device is ready to be used. Consuming only .54 Watts of power, this unit converting DVI to VGA signals is available in three models; DVI-Digital, DVI-Analog, and DVI-Integrated (Digital & Analog).

These converters work on the digital visual interface technology which was developed by the DDWG group. Equipped with many features, it’s highlights are compact design, signal boosting capabilities and compatibility with any single link DVI-D device such as PCs and Macs. Also known as digital to analog converters, this hardware device is an economical solution as it can extend the life of existing display equipment. It is replacing the VGA devices since DVI provides better picture clarity. Due to all the above mentioned benefits and features, the DVI-D to VGA Converter is used in a wide range of applications such as in home theater set ups along with commercial, military and government environments.
