Hi everyone, I'm new to the Digital Signage World. I'm really trying to get into the business. I really became interested in Digital Signage when I was stationed in Korea(It really caught my EYE). I currently have one screen in a convenience store in Tampa, Fl. I find it hard to get customers with one screen. Does anyone have any suggestions? By the way this is the best site I have been on as far as Digital Signage goes. Thank for any help offered.
Thanks again. Stanley Walker

Hi stanley,
Thank you for your kind words. This website is still young and with the spare time that we have, we are constantly trying to improve it. We hope that you can benefit from this website and if you have any feedback on how to further improve this website feel free to let us know.
From experience, I think when starting a digital signage business you'll need to consider the following:
1. Like any other start-up business, the first couple of years will be tough. I've been told that the first 5 years most businesses struggle and some don't even last. If you're new to digital signage, one of the biggest hurdles would be how to WIN or engage potential clients if you don't have case studies or references. If you're struggling to get clients, offer a free trial and show them the business and financial benefits for using digital signage. They will learn through the trial experience that digital signage technology is the future of advertising.
2. Networking – it may be time consuming or even difficult at first but in order to expand your business you’ll need to build strong business relationships with other companies. Find out who your local suppliers are and get in touch with them. If you haven’t done so already, you may also want to partner with other small reputable digital signage companies – two heads are always better than one.
3. Having a clean, straight to the point website will help your potential clients understand what your business really does. In this technological age, having a website and being on the first page of search engines is vital.
4. Being a "man of all trades" might slow you down so put together a clear business plan of what your business really does and execute this plan. 5. Having a single screen is a start. Ask that business whether you can advertise your own business on the screen. After all, that's what it's there for. 6. Finally, use this website to your own advantage and showcase what your business has done in the digital signage industry (i.e. photos of what you’ve implemented, case studies and interact with the online digital signage community – I think you’ve already worked this out).
All the best with your new business and feel free to post up any questions you may have on this forum. This online community will definitely help you and for whatever its worth, continue with your business as you’re on the right path.

Stanley Digital Signage is growing everywhere from doctors offices to large corps do not be afraid to ask everything from the mom and pop shop to the large corp. Right now digital signage is growing so fast there is no wrong place to go. Also a great show of why they need it and what it will do for their business is great! set up a power point DVD of why they need digital signage. If you want a little bit nicer demo I could help you out with that just let me know. but keep plugging away nothing happens over night.
Thanks guys and have a great day! Travis Digitalsignage.bluepony.com Bluepony.com tnichols@bluepony.com 1(260)969-1020 |
