digital signage blog post and we thought we would include it here so that it can be further discussed by our forum members:
Hey
Do you guys know anything about medical signs? That is, hospital signs, clinic signs, medical banners, other ways signage is used in the medical profession? I’ve got a background in the medical communication business (writing and editing) but find myself working in the sign business. I’m trying to marry the two interests. Curious to find out more about medical signage, if it even exists.
I think in hospital digital signage can definitely be used as a communication tool to educate visitors more about medical diseases etc. In some other areas, like the reception area it can be used to provide directions for visitors.
Whilst on this topic, I have to be honest with you and in the past we tried to get a foot in the medical industry by offering 1 month free digital signage to local medical centres in Australia. From all the medical centres we approached with this offer, none of them were interested. I honestly don't know why - maybe digital signage was still at its infancy and people were not interested or did not understand the full benefits of this technology.
What are your thoughts on this?
