Do you generally recommend to have audio in your digital signage content?

Sometimes this can become a distraction or annoying if the content is being looped all the time.

It completely 100% depends on the application. I would never recommend audio to someone who is putting there screen on the side of the highway so people can see it as they are driving. But if we are doing something for the Indianapolis Colts to run during a timeout... most definitely I would suggest it.

Is there a specific application that you have in mind?

Its usually pretty simple if you look at the overall idea behind the solution and ask, does audio take away or does it add to it? what type of audio works best? light jazz? voice over? hard rock?
Thanks guys and have a great day!

on a website I would normally say yes, you can easily turn the audio off if you do not want to hear it. For your application I would say most definitely, you want your viewers to get the full extent of what signage is capable of.
Thanks guys and have a great day!
